Throwing Lab: Intermediate

Learn new tricks such as throwing bigger/taller/smaller, throwing on the hump, double-walled forms, throwing lids, trimming on a chuck, pulling handles, avoiding cracks in plates, & more! Teachers demonstrate techniques based on students' requests. Each session is a supervised practice within a flexible atmosphere. We tailor your specific interests to help structure which techniques will be shown.

*Previous experience of approximately 1-3 months independent wheel-throwing is recommended. A basic understanding of how to throw a cylinder and a bowl without instruction is required. How to center clay or how to pull up walls will not be taught in this class. Instead, possible ways to refine such steps, in order to achieve your desired form, will be presented.

This is a process-oriented course. Firing fee is not included in price. Students may choose to finish their work independently during Studio Time or book a Follow-up Private Session.
